Primodus, yes these are very tough indeed !!! I have given my 3 VF planes enough abuse, OUCH!!! One time in crosswind landing I cartwheeled and bounced my 66 inch Extra at least 2 full turns and escaped with only a broken cowl. Anything else especially the flimsy stuff would have surely disintegrated.
I think all the recommended throws are on the low side maybe to keep the flying safe. I always gradually max them out to what the plane can take. The ailerons especially can take a lot more before inducing a stall at high speeds. Other thing to be kept in mind is the airframe may not be able to handle the high stresses produced when the airplane is wrenched really hard.
