In approximate order of importance:

Fuel (goes bang, makes engine go)

Fuel filler Bottle (trying to pour fuel from a 1 gallon jug into a small tank is very tricky, these babys have a long metal spout that you suck fuel oout of the bottle with and squirt it into the tank - easy)


Plug heater (gets the glow plug up to operating temperature, needed to ignite the fuel to make the bang, once the engine is running, you can take it off)

Batteries (provide a stream of electrons that move servos, which move moving parts, controlling the car)

Plug spanner (a normal wrench that fits wil do, but a plug spanner has clips to hold the plug, makes removing the plug much easier)


After Run Oil (Nitro fuel attracts moisture, which corrodes engines. a few drops in the plug hole and spread round the engine by turning it over will coat the cylinder and stop rust)

Temperature gun (tells you how hot your motor is. if you overheat your motor you can kill it. you can make do with spitting on your engine and seeinghow long it takes to boil - but a temp gun is more accurate (and doesnt leave horribel marks on your head))

Spare Glow Plugs (these are consumables, either get the same as came with the car, or ask your LHS what one they recomend for your fuel/car - and buy a couple)

air filter oil (periodialy your airfilter will clog up, clean it with nitro fuel, then coat it with AFO - the oil traps dirt and makes the filter more efficent - NEVER RUN WITHOUT A FILTER!!)

nitro cleaner (makes your car look pretty, and can be useful to clean the area round the glowpluge before you remove it to stop dirt falling into the cylinder)

failsafe (stops your car running away if it goes out of range)

Joking aside, the most important thing you need to know at this stage is that a nitro engine will need to be "broken in" before you use it. The manual (if you have one) will have instructions, follow these to the letter! - if you dont have a manual, try and find an online one, or come here and ask for breakin instructions. If you just try and run it without breaking in, it will last about a week.
