The best idea is to install a Mini-JET. I have 4 1/8 scale hydros all with one in them (only because i can) i also use a smaller motor and one or two battery's,It is only to bring the boat back, so it doesn't have to go fast.The motor is turned on with the throttle servo in the full off position and full trim.I leave the reversing flap off and just have the water coming straight out and use the rudder to steer with. To install in any hull place it at the rear off the hull, (of course) and on the right hand side looking from the rear.
