holding the assembly with the gears up... look at the shift clutch... you will see 2 set screws..(turn the top gear until the hole lines up) the set screw that is NOT angled is the one you want to loosen... only a little bit.... carefully remove the shift clutch (remember which way is up)... no you can remove the gears from the shaft.... separate the gears, remove the top gear and use the snap ring plier to remove the other one.... Reverse the process to put it back together... take your time, If you have to pry something apart, you are doing something wrong........The gears are snug but not pressed in..... Have fun......
