the cap could probably used as a 3D plane if you were careful to build very light so it won't snap. It is not one of the best 3D planes around but if you want something that actually looks like a real airplane i guess the Cap would work. I haven't really done any hard 3D manoevers but i can hover it and do some other stuff with no tendency to snap.
