JR 8103, CCPM and basic programing?
I was going to buy from the mail order to save 8% sales tax. I ended up order from the local hobby shop. $379 with O.S. engine. They provided me great support and setting up the helicopter. I had 8103 CPM helicopter version transmitter. The tail servo came with the transmitter is not good enough to control the tail using JR 550T gyro. The tail was going left and right. I had to buy another JR super servo for $159.00. It worked great after that. Very steady. I think the good setup contributed to my first flight success.
Also get two extra spare NiCd transmitter batteries. Higher amperage, the better. CCPM set up uses up much power. I also installed battery checker from Hobbico for $14.00. It mount on the receiver slot. You can view the battery power by looking at the LED display.
When mounting metal screw to non-metal body part, use super glue instead of screw glue. There were one screw came off after my first flight.
The annetena tube is too long to insert the annetena all the way. You might need to cut the tube in half before damaging the annetena.
Don't forget to balance your blade.
Have fun,
