I used a Bolly F3A wide c.f. gear. Had more then enough clearance and it gives me a little extra incase the landing is a little hard. This thing floats in so soft I dont think it will be an issue. Mine weighted 9lbs 12 oz. The Bolly gear is swept back but I had absolutley no problem with ground handling. The Bolly gear is very forgiving and has great shock absorbing qualities. I use this same gear is on my pattern planes that weight up to 11 lbs has sustained several hard landings.
