Default RE: Does anybody know anything about these RCV engines?

Hi

I purchased a RCV 120 for my custom made 20" arc scale BF 109 carbon three blade prop. This is just an expieriment, the blades are a bit much for this engine but heres what I have so far after a test stand run.

The fuel is Omega 10%. The glow plug is OS type F. The engine turned this prop, pitched at aprox 12 degrees of pitch at 3500 rpms, its temp was 370 degrees F.

According to RCV, the engine is designed to pull an 11lbs airframe, its normal operating temp is 315-356 degrees F. And it does run right around there. Fuel consumption should be .7 oz per minute. RCV props: 20x10 2 blade, 15x10 3 blade, 15x8 4 blade.

RCV reccomends 2 hours of break in. The engine starts easy and will run nice at low rpm once run for a few hours. Vibrates a bit.

I like the engine, I am building a warbird around the 11lb rangefor the RCV and will make custom scale props for it also.

The 20" blades are for an 80" 109G. I bought a Dave Patrick/ Moki 210 to turn the 20" 3 blade.
