A friend gave me a new OFNA 12volt starter box he no longer needed. I went to my LHS and purchased a dry cell battery. I charged it and went to try it. I had to reverse the pos/neg on the battery to make the rubber wheel spin the correct way to start my truck. My question is, when I plug in the battery charger do I still hook up the Neg to neg, pos. to pos. Also I tried to get the manual on the OFNA web site, with no luck, so I was wondering if I can reverse the polarity on the motor itself and change back the battery to the right polarity. Thanks, Scott
Always charge the battery with negative to negative, positive to positive. I have to reverse the wires for my starter box too to get it to spin the right way but you got to charge the battery normally. If you want, you can reverse the wires connecting to the motor in the starter box and then you can connect pos to pos, neg to neg on the battery but it doesn't really matter to me. The odd time I would connect the battery normally to the starter box after charging but I always check which way the wheel is spinning before I start my car.
