Default RE: Brand Names

model technics fuel has a bit of a poor rep in some circles - but I use it and have no problems, as do thousands of others.

Buying fuel mail order can get expensive because as far as I know it is ilegal to send flamable liquids by Royal Mail. so fuel has to be curiored(sp?) to you.

the pushbutton Roto-Start is basicly a starter motor for RC. Some RC's come with a Pullstart (think Lawnmower/chainsaw), others come with a starter box, which has a wheel that presses against the flywheel mounted in a metal box and turned with a 12v motor. Others (like the t-maxx) has a starter motor built into the truck its self(dead weight when you have it started though).

HPI use the Roto-Start system for most of their beginner RC's.It is nothing more than an electric motor attached to a 7.2volt stick pack, with a "bit" that connects to the abck of the engine. you push the button on the roto and it turns over your engine. simple. and unlike the traxxas system - you keep the extra weight of the motor in your hand not strapped to the truck.
