Well guys,

I have some bad news to share. Without notice, we lost our field. The owner of the property informed our club president that the field is going to be used as a dump for concrete. He mentioned that we may be able to relocate to another are of the property once the dump is setup. But for the time being, we lost a field that had some of the most airspace. The property was being surveyed the other day by a crew and they booted one of our members out. They even took down our signs. We had to take the covered pit area down as well.

On a plus side, one of my buddies is the president at the other field I fly at occasionally. He has extended an offer for us to use his field until this is all situated. His field is the one I flew at on Sunday. While it has a nice pit area and fairly smooth runway, the field is bordered by trees on 2 sides and powerlines across the street from us. While they fly all manner of aircraft there, even large scale, it can get a bit hairy trying to drop down over the lines or the trees to land. But as we all know: beggars can't be choosers. Besides, the atmosphere at this field is excellant. All the club members are very eager and willing to help one another.
