That's a good report. I have a Saito 100 in my U-CAN-DO 60 that weighs 7.5lb and with 30% heli I can rocket straight up out of a hover (APC 16x4W prop). If your Excelleron only weighs 7.88lb you are right about good vertical performance.

How much weight did you have to put in the nose to get it to balance? I saw that the YS110 took about 6oz. So I would think a Saito 100 would take about 10oz. If you have to add too much weight, I think there are better choices for an engine, but if you have a Saito 100 sitting around (like I do), it may not be a bad option.
