I can't speak for others, but the reason I stripped the covering, L2rcav8, was to make sure the plane was airworthy (safe) before putting it in the air. It wasn't. There were other problems that I found that were not mentioned in the previous post, such as elevator sheeting that didn't have a drop of glue on it. If I had not stripped the covering I would obviously have not have known about the needed repairs. I'm out the money I paid for the plane since Lanier says I somehow modified the plane by simply removing the covering, but I would rather be out the money than to have taken a faulty plane to the field and endangered others.
