RE: Excelleron 90
I just ordered one. They are on sale for $229-not bad considering the 50 is $10 more right now. I have over 10 years flying experience, but haven't been flying for the past 2 1/2 years. I was going to get back into it with the Funtana 90 (I already bought it, a 1.10, hi-torque digital minis, and other radio gear) until I flew my 3D foamy and realized that I have practically forgotten how to fly, so I figured I'd better get back to basics...point rolls, square loop variations, snaps, etc. This plane looks like a good place to start.
Anyway, on to my question:
Does anyone use this plane for other than "Pattern" porposes? I have a deep appreciation for precision flying, but using every tank of fuel to practice a pattern all year long that someone drew up in the back of a magazine is unorigional and boring, to me. So I am wondering how well this plane "freestyles". Not 3D, necessarily (I have the Funtana for that), but the occasional torque rolls, flat spins, tumbles, and various Knife-edge maneuvers...any input?
