FUNTANA 90
A "PIG" it is not....far from it. It just has a lot of wing area and if you TRUELY want unlimited aerobatics then you need a large enough engine and that just depends just on what your flying style is and how wild you want to fly it.
Size wise.... with over 1100 sq inches it is way bigger then any .60 size airplane I have ever flown. Most .60 airplanes are more in the range of 600-700 sq inches.
It might fly with a 60, but it would need 1.5lb of lead in the nose to balance and would not be highly aerobatic. Ideally it was designed around the YS 1.10
There are a dozen engine combo's you can run in it if you wan to. If these are too much engine for your liking then this may not be the plane for you.
Mine has an ST2300 on it that I had laying around collecting dust so I put it to use in this airplane and its a great combo.
Yes a 1.80 is a bit over kill but there are plenty of engines from the OS 91 to the Saito 1.80 that will work just fine.
Dont let these guys befuddle you with "OHH you need a 1.80 to MAKE it fly" Use what you are comfortable with but do not under power it as it is a fun airplane to fly with ENOUGH power.
There is no substitute for cubic inches.... thats what the left stick is for.
Enjoy it as it is one of the better buys in this size airplane for the money you may find.

Maybe i just need to cancel my order on this airframe. A 180 in a 60 size plane is rediculous. It has to be a pig to take that big of an engine to fly it.
