Bob, what I'm getting from this is that when you move your throttle stick, you get too much power with just a few clicks, correct???
Simple fix, you are on the right track. Just need to fine tune your curve. At 25% stick travel, that is where I start my curve, and finish it at almost 65% stick travel. I have 3 different points in the curve. Point 1 starts at 25%, obviously.

Point 2 is around 45-50% stick, and point 3 is at the 65% stick. And I'm NOT finished setting up my curve. I need more curve past 65% stick. When I get to the point over half stick, it justs up about 500R's and leaps up about 45 feet!!! Its good if your TR's or a hover gets a little hairy, but if you are in the groove and feeling it, it's too crazy! I have the JR 10X with an AW Edge 540T and a Cactus SS 100.
On your curve, make sure that your curve goes towards the bottom of the screen, otherwise you'll be hovering at 10% stick, and leaping up 45 feet like I am with 1 click of throttle stick.
Good luck. It just takes time to get it right. I couldn't get an inside 270 degree 3 roll turn down the first time. It just takes time and a little tweaking in the Tx. Don't get frustrated, if you do, it takes longer to get it right.
