Jeff, here's the best advice I can give you:
Don't have kids!
But seriously, the PANASONIC PV-GS200 is excellent, and don't go all out for zoom just yet. Long range zoom is VERY difficult to hold still, and let's face it, most of the stuff worth seeing (Flying wise) is done at a relatively close range.
