I would welcome higher scoring for precision. When i competed a few years a go i flew like a COMPLETE MUPPET so ain't making any excuses!!! But i was doing some good stuff such as one roll circles into one roll loops etc. However, after two rounds i was behind someone who was doing 4 point rolls and putting in the wrong rudder inputs!!!!!! The only difference was that he was flying lower. To me that didn't seem quite right at all!!!!
Although i'm better prepared now, at the time me and my plane weren't to hot at 3D so i was relying on my one roll stuff etc etc to bump up my score. However, as it turned out the scoring was more bias towards 3D and the more exciting style of flying than i'd anticipated.. which is fair enough i guess!!! Its better to watch thats for sure, though certain f3A elements can be apealling to.
Having just read this back to myself it sorta sounds like i'm whinging - I'm really not! In fact i'm looking forward to having another bash this year now i (sort of) know what to expect. All i'm saying is that good flying should be recognised over dodgy but low flying!!
Who'd be a judge! I'm seriosly grateful that the judges take the time out to help at this comp so i'm not haing a go at then or TW in the slightest.
bring on September!
