Default Problem arming Electro-Fusion 35 Controller

Got my Corona on Saturday. I'm about halfway through the build process. Everything is going great.

I did run into a snag though. I wanted to test out the motor and wired everything up on the bench. The manual mentions that, for safety, you mus arm the speed controller before it ill allow the engine to start. The manual mentions that you need to move the throttle stick and trim lever on the transmitter to full low for two seconds, then middle position for two seconds and then finally full low again for two seconds (waiting for a beep from the motor after each step). Unfortunately, my transmitter is computerized and the trim settings are digital. There's no fast way to move the trim settings to either position. As such, I'm not able to arm the controller.

Is there a possible workaround for this? Or, are the digital trims even an issue? It seems odd that, in this day and age, someone would release a speed controller that was incompatible with a computerized radio.

I should point out that the motor does beep when I connect the battery, so I do know that power is getting to it. I've also tried plugging in servos on other channels to ensure that the receiver is working.

Any help anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated.
