It is interesting to note that when an accomplished pattern pilot flies 3D the flights are so graceful and smooth. To me that just demonstrates the skill and flight awaresness that the disciplined pattern pilot develops.

If the sequence is put together well and the pilot is really skilled then the distinction between pattern and 3D blurs. It is all about skill in multiple manuevers.
