RE: Is 3D the coolest form of the hobby
Angus, nothing personal, but I think 3d is less 'those who can't fly pattern' and more those who dont wana spend £2500 on a plane, then another couple hundred on a competition weekend 4 times a year just to get in the team, then come up with £000's to go to the worlds. not 4getin all the practice time, 20-25% nitro fuel and having to get clear airspace at the average sunday field to fly inverted against the circuit.
mebbe once or twice a year, the nats(if i can keep my pattern ship alive that long).
laser 3d, irvine 53 and FF6(all less than the price of one yamada) can easily keep a good pilot amused for hours on end, so yes, too bloody right 3d is the coolest!!!
