I ASSume all the time, gets me in trouble sometimes

The location of the pressure port SHOULDN'T make a difference...I have put pressure fittings in all different locations, in the case, in the cylinder at the transfer port, through the side of the mount on a ST3000, never had a problem anywhere...Maybe they want to keep the pulse line short ? I have had pulse lines as long as 4 inches, using molded neoprene tubing with no problem..[8D]
Another thought..My G26 carbs are really large for a 26cc engine...The idle setting is a little strange...You can set the idle SPEED by opening the low speed needle too far, where it's too rich...The transition is still OK, but not correct...The carb has 3 little holes in the venturi that control the incoming fuel for idle and transition..It' possible to have the carb too far open to utilize the holes correctly...
Start the engine, set the idle speed to where you usually have it..Slowly close the low speed needle, the speed should increase..Re set the idle speed with the trim, then lean out the low speed needle again, the engine should speed up...Do this until you no longer get an increase in speed by leaning the needle..Now set the low speed needle for a good transition..Works great on the G26, it's worth a try, might fix the engine stopping when landing problem...

This applies only to pilots who are not AFRAID to adjust the carb needles..As in-- "I have run 2 gallons through my engine and have not touched the needles from the "factory setting"..
