This may sound a bit unorthodox but, I found that a cheep 12V jump start pack works well. I've been using one for about a year. It has a charge indicator light and takes a charge from a car lighter as well as a wall wart. An overnight charge is all it needs. It's heavy but hey, if someone needs a jump start at the field I've got em covered.
