What did the Corsairs come up against during the Korean War.
Was it Mig 15's, if so how did they fare against them.

Phil G., the F4U was used for close ground support but, as I recall, a Corsair did manage to shoot down a Mig-15 one time. Here are a couple more photos just for grins. The Rendova is the jeep carrier that VMF-212 flew off of but sometimes they flew from ground bases in S. Korea. I guess you can tell I'm proud of my father.

Notice the damage to the plane that just landed on the carrier, proof that straight & level at low altitude is a NO NO.
