Folks are usually talking about millimeters (mm) and not mils, by the way

4 "mils" would be .004".
(Unless you're talking about the outside sheet thickness, that's not very useful)

What's confusing is that sometimes people mistakenly abbreviate millimeter as "ml" instead of "mm".
