RE: THE BEST 60-90 PATTERN PLANE
I can't tell you which is one is best, because I haven't built, owned, trimmed or flown ALL of the planes in this size. I can tell you that the CA WideBody 60 is a great airplane for someone starting in pattern. The plane will come out in the 6.5 pound range with a .60 2 stroke and 7ish pounds with a big 4 stroke. I went in the middle and am using an OS 91fx with a perry carb and pump. The weight of the plane dry without the pump (it was added later after it was weighed) is 6 pounds 9 ounces. As for flying qualities...pretty good. No pitch to the belly in knife edge and very little proverse roll couple. I found that I had to mix just a touch of down elevator with idle throttle. It has a slight tendency to pull to the canopy on down lines. With the 91 pulling it, the vertical is unlimited and will pull out of a hover. Slowing down for landing is like flying any other light wing loading plane. It can be flown at a crawl.
Hope this helps,
Bryan
