RE: Setup from basic to 3D
First to start you need to make sure your pitch range is available to do 3d, I dont not nor have ever owned a hawk, but you need to make sure you can get -9 +9 degrees pitch range out of it, also I dont know how much cyclic (elevator, aileron) travel you have but you need to have enough to perform the loops and rolls. I am sure you should be fine with that but again I am not entirely sure.
Also your idle up curve needs to be programmed. There are a couple different ways to set it up, i.e. some people like 1/2 stick hover, and others 3/4 stick hover. Personally I like 3/4. I also have my idle1 set up so I can switch between normal and idle1 without the helicopter jumping or falling, in other words make sure at the hover point in both curves you have the same pitch value (6 degrees). The idle1 curve is gonna look something like 100 75 50 75 100 this gives you throttle at negative pitch values. Pitch curve on mine is -9 -6 0 6 9. some people run +-10 degrees also. I am sure there is more that others will throw in also....
