RE: Skymaster BAe Hawk Fuel system
Guys I like what you are doing with the more scale like flap but I am a little worried. From experience the last thing the hawk needs is more flap movement. I have been in situations Early on where large flap movements caused a pitch down that could not be picked up by the stab (No matter how much movement) Now I am saying this as a technical idiot and I do not know if the scale type flaps will lessen the pitch down situation. If so great lets go full steam ahead. But if As I suspect they do not cancel it they will only make it worse. So be careful.
David,
Whats the Spec on those Jr Servos
Sandor. I did see the potential of a similar problem with my hawk but I adjusted the position the actual retract on the bearers so this nipple cleared the wood work. I slid mine as fas as it would go toward the wing tip. Also I notice by your picture that you have raised the retracts off the mounts with washers. What I did was I removed the moulded lip that is on the wing around the retract mount opening. This meant my retracts could sit square on the wood mounts and slide toward the wing tip thus clearing the nipple.
I hope that all make sense. If not I will take some pics later today. Cant do at the moment as camera is flat
Here are some epics of my install. All done apart from the UAT which will hopefully arrive today
