Default Carving the Spinner for Props???

Hello,

I have just finished my Sig Somethin' Extra and bolted on a Great Planes 2 1/4" Spinner on the front (the aluminum backplate type). I have also purchased some props for it, including an APC 11x5 Sport prop. Initially I plan to start with a Master Airscrew Nylon 11x6 and it fits just fine in the spinner cut outs, but the APC prop is about 5mm wider than the cutouts. I am considering trimming the spinner cutouts equally on both sides and am curious as to how it should be done. I understand that Sig makes spinners compatible with APC props, but I want to try and trim my current spinner. Is a dremel tool an absolute requirement or can I do it with the good old X-Acto knife?

Also, I have just switched props on my other plane and am wondering if I would have to retune the engine? The engine is TT Pro 46 and the prop is 11x6 (old prop was a 10x7).

Thanks in advance for any input.
