Hi all.I am in the process of trying to come up with an idea to get the throttle lever of the carb inline with the throttle cable kind of like Zenoah's straight shot manifold that they offer.I know that Carr Precision makes a twister manifold for the Homie wacker engines and Scott Baldridge use to make one at one time also(no longer) but I'm trying to keep costs down by making most of this stuff myself and I require 3 of them.Gets kind of pricey real quick. What I need to know is what type of materials are acceptable for intake manifold useage that are gas and oil resistant, low heat transference and also high heat tolerant? It would have to be easily machined by ordinary shop type tools also.No metal lathes here unfortunately..........yet.
Part two, here goes.Does it make any difference in the operation of the carburetor if the primer bulb is upside down or right side up?I know it works fine in the upright mode but I'm not so sure if it works when inverted or not.I don't know if it's a good idea to use the primer bulb to get the engine going quicker or to just plug it and use a single line system.Any thoughts on this type of setup? How are most people setting up their conversions? All I know for sure is that I have a hell of a time getting my regular Homie 25 weedwacker going to trim the grass if I DON'T prime it first.Don't know why it would be any different because it's mounted on the front of a model airplane.
