You have it cracked now Don ... whats next .. the tailskid ? You could make all the detail bits in Japan and assemble it when your tour is over I just used Cyano for the tyre join ..the brake tube is hollow 8mm so I reinforced the join with a small piece of brass tube ..internally. Attached are my finished wheels ... I didnt know about the other side going out of sync .. guess I was lucky ..but I can see it could now you mention it
