I'm on the verge of buying a new starter. I've been using the same one for 4 years, lol. I have a Dynamite red anodized rechargeable one with a meter. It has been good but has began to pop off a little bit lately, and the red doesn't match anything on my truck, lol. It has been good though. Four years on the same ignitor is pretty good IMO.
Just get whatever truck ya want. Both are great, and I have only heard a bunch of Evader problems from newbies, and those problems have nothing to do with the Evader, but more with nitro in general. I guarantee they would have had very similar problems with the GT if they would have got it first. It's just how nitro is.
I've been into nitro for 4 years (if you made the connection, that means I've had the same ignitor since I started the hobby) and had the N-Evader for 2 months now. I have only broken one knuckle, but I had fun doing it and its a $2 part, big deal. I have jumped the crap out of it (see my video a bit further down in this thread) and it keeps coming back. It is very reliable, and ready to go at a moments notice. DTX has SERIOUSLY increased the quality of their vehicles with the Evader series.
Just get whatever floats your boat. Both have proven to be quality and durable (considering how lightweight they are). Both are easy to get parts for (although the GT has a much stronger aftermarket), and you will have fun with both.
Oh, and if it helps, I chose the N-Evader over a GT Plus RTR.

No regrets here.
