I have a Somethin Extra I built from a kit and it flys very well. It will not do all the stuff for intermediate pattern and does not like the wind too well but it is a fun plane. It lands very easy if you put it on low rates and dial in some expo. Also use an "0" ring to hold the wings together it is much safer. I see some of the recomended planes are not in the same catagory. A four star 40 or 60 are wonderful planes but will not measure up to what you can do with the SE although they handle the wind much better. Have you looked at the U Can Do 46?
