RE: Opinion on a "Something Extra by SIG
Mine is probably built lighter than most SEs and it handles the wind okay. It handles wind at altitude very well and I like that. It will land okay if you keep a little power on and drive it on down. Keep a little throttle on and keep the nose down. The large airfoil will slow you down quickly when you flare and cut the throttle. It will definately want to float if you let the nose come up to a level attitude on approach. I don't know about other SEs as mine has elevator counterbalances and is built light to hover, but it takes an easy up on the elevator and then wait. It flies best if I wait for the elevator to take action instead of snapping it up immediately.
