nope. Its actually called a venturi and I use them at the track.It limits how much air your engine can take in at any given time. It does make the engine more tame to drive around. Many pros use them. When you look at setup sheets it will ask what venturi you used.There are different sizes for different tracks. They are a nice thing to have for the track but i think most bashers will view them as a nusiance since they just want raw power![&:]
