Hoppy... I just built the 4 Star 60 as my first kit also. I had the same problem about the ends overhanging at first. It is in the instructions, but it is very easy to miss if you are just skimming through. If you haven't already, read the instructions all the way through just like a book. You WILL find all the information you need. If not, it will be on the plans.
It's a great plane & you'll love it. I put a Saito .91FS in mine & it has gobs of power.
