Default RE: U-Can-Do 3d 46?

perkinsm, I'm so excited to be flying. Believe me, our weather is less than perfect but still better than not flying. I was reading about your question of the Saito 72 losing RPM when you drop the ignitor. I think all 4 strokes do that. Especially when it is a little cold. You might leave the glow stick on a little bit longer but it'll probably still drop a little RPM when removed. I think it's a natural thing. I know all my Saitos do it. Also, I think you may be a little too rich on the bottom end needle. They come super rich from the factory. After the 30-40 minute break in it's time to lean them way down. First adjust the main and peak the RPM and back off one or two clicks. Then run the low end needle in at least a 1/ 2 to 3/4 turn. That's a good place to start. Then watch the transition from idle to mid and see if it stutters or dies or sputters. If it does any of these it's probably still to rich. Keep leaning it down until it makes a smooth, seamless transition. This will get even better after fully broken in. But don't scared to lean it down. That's where the famous Saito power comes from.
Thanks,
Barry
