FIXED!!!! 14MZ Throttle Cut problem
I cannot get Throttle Cut to work properly. Both of the problem planes have the throttle servo reversed, which may be related to the problem. Throttle Cut actually OPENS the throttle, not closes it. Yikes.
When the servo is set for reverse direction, this reversal doesn't seem to map to the THROTTLE CUT function like it does on the 9C. So, when I use THROTTLE CUT, it actually opens the throttle when THROTTLE CUT is ON. It doesn't close it! If I reverse the switch assignment ON/OFF position to fake it out it will close the throttle but it thinks it is doing that in the OFF position. Gee, this is hard to explain. However, when I do this, the IDLE DOWN feature won't work! Seems that IDLE DOWN is programmed to only work when the THROTTLE CUT switch is in the OFF position. When that switch is reversed, IDLE DOWN thinks that it THROTTLE CUT is already in the ON mode and won't operate. I cannot reverse IDLE DOWN and get it to work.
To work around this, until Futaba fixes it, or until somebody can help me what I'm doing wrong, I created a THROTTLE->THROTTLE mix. I never did such a mix before, but I played with the buttons and graphy thing until the throttle did what I wanted, when I wanted it to do it. I made a multipoint LINE mix. I added an extra point so that I could have the THROTTLE CUT only activate while the throttle stick is within the last 3 clicks at idle. I am kind of proud of myself, but kind of annoyed that the THROTTLE CUT function is screwed up when the servo is reversed. Actually, I'm assuming it's because of the reversed servo, but I have not tried any glow planes with non-reversed throttle servos yet. I've got 4 other electrics programmed in, but they don't need a throttle cut function!
Any ideas? Am I just doing someting incredibly stupid? With my 9C these 2 functions are very easy to do.
