First of all, do not buy a four chanel radio. The minimum you should consider would be 6. After your trainer gets to be boring, you will want the capability of a more flexible radio that offers mixing, exponential etc. The difference in price is minimal. For a plane,consider the Sig Cadet-- probably the most forgiving of all the various trainers, and can be flown very slow with the right engine. Also, dont go cheap on the engine with a bushing engine instead of ball bearings. A good ball bearing engine should last you for years if you take care of it.
