Default RE: 9C V-Tail software error

Paul, these are two problems that were noted for the 4-servo-wing and v-tail (GLID2FLP) set up on a 9C.

Back in late 2002, Futaba (Hobbico) was accepting older 9C transmitter for a swap out of processors that corrected the software bug in the GLID2FLP program for 4-servo-wing and v-tail.

Attached is old email from the Futaba listmail that refers to the 9C transmitter exchange. The first note describes the 9C transmitter processor upgrade for those with the software bug. The second note describes when the new processors were placed in Futaba USA's inventory. The last note describes a"work around" fix that may be useful, that was recommended before the upgraded 9C processors were available. At the time Hobbico's service manager was AnneMarie Cross, and today that person is Bill Baxter.

Perhaps Futaba (Hobbico) will honor your request to fix the software bug by swapping its processor board. I would send a note to Bill Baxter ("Bax" on this website) and ask for a swap to get the 9C software correction.

Hope this helps...Ron

sorry, Mr Ponder, I'm not in the office today so I can't measure.

there's a simple test...

set up a blank model as glid2flp
turn on vtail
turn on airbrake
set 100% as the elevator input in airbrake
go to the servo screen
turn on airbrake.
do channels 2 and 4 move identically? you have hte new processor and are
fine. does one move twice as far as the other? you do not have the new
processor.

Please DO NOT send your radio for a processor change unless you are going to
use this combination of features. PLEASE. We do not have a large stock of
processors. We will simply change your processor no charge the next time your
radio is in for regular service.

All radios received in the US after 6/30/02 have the updated processor. So we currently have mixed stock, as some frequencies have sold out and some have not.

Again, the ONLY difference is the fix for the
4servoglider/butterfly/vtail/with elevator compensation mix, and the longer
dials.

Courtesy of a user who has this setup and running...

PMIX ARBK->ELEV, rate +10%v/0%^, offset 100%,link=off,trim=off,sw=A/down

Where the rate of +10% is -1/2 my elev comp in crow(-20%), this works when
the vtail setup is default sense i.e. ELE1=+,ELE2=-. If the vtail sense is
reversed then I think you will need to use the full compensation by pmix
i.e. -20%.
Also, obviously, don't use the elevator delay in crow as them pmix handled
side won't be delayed.
Again for the same reason don't use them ELE trim in crow mode - all your
adjustments will have to be on the ground for now
