what happened to quality
I have been building and flying jet models for aprox. 13 yrs and have built and flown no fewer than 10 aeroloft kits (F-15s-104- buckeyes-rafales) and recently purchased another F-15 kit after being away from jets for about 5 yrs. Boy what a piece of junk this thing is. I figured I would go back to what I thought would be a quality choice, to get back into the swing of things, boy was I wrong. The bulkhead pieces and other wood didn't even come close to fitting together, I don't know what method of cutting the wood parts is but every part was burned on the edges. The glass parts were distorted and full of air holes, not only that but the intake areas were cracked, along with cracked and missing glass at the engine hatch area. The canopy frame and engine hatch were warped and to big to fit in the fuse, the lexan plastic canopy has small dots in the plastic. The pre-sheeted wings and tail parts used to be so smooth I didn't hardly have sand them, but these ones looked like they were done buy a rookie. I was going to call Aeroloft to complain about these problems but really, what's the point. It took them over 6 weeks to get the thing to me, and I only live 2 and a half hrs from them, and I didn't want to wait another month or more for replacement parts. You may be asking yourself, why am I posting this. Mainly because of how dissapointed I am in the kit, and coming from a quality control background and building so many of there kits in the past for myself and others, I could not believe what I had spent $1300.00 for. Also to find out if anyone else has had the same problems with the companys kits.
Thank you for listening and reading,
and remember: once a plane, twice a kit.
