Default RE: CA Glue Mishaps

Heh heh, That sucks. I managed a nice screwup a while back. I was trying to fix some stripped screw` holes on a very old radioshack buggy. Since I was at college & this should have been a quick fix, I just put it in my lap and started glueing away.

Now for the catch: The `screw holes didn't have a bottom.
You see the problem?

So when I was done screwing everything back together, I put my RC on the floor and realized I had a problem. The CA' went straight through the holes and dripped onto my mesh shorts. In my infinite wisdom, I tried pushing a finger between my leg and the shorts... only to discover that now my shorts were sticking to my leg and my finger. ****.

The `glue still hasn't come out of my shorts & the weird part is that there are still patches on my leg without any hair where the `glue was.

Here are accelerants for CA:
Water[sm=drowning.gif]
Alcohol[sm=eek.gif]
Cellulose -cotton, paper towels, paper, etc.
Cloth -the large surface area allows for rapid curing

If there's enough superglue, a cotton ball, paper towel or even a shop rag might catch fire if you use it to clean up the mess. I managed to somewhat melt a torn ski glove I tried to fix with superglue. :-\
