Nope ck.d both outdrives to make sure I did not leave anything in them & old diff rings went in the trash. The bearing is in. Could the spring be too long?? The part # is 6582 for the thrust spring & thats what I got. Weird thing is it looks same as the as the slipper spring except 1 is black & the other is chrome. Could I try to compress the spring a few times with a pair of pliers or somthing? Ther seems to be about 1/4" of spring above the diff bolt.
