Default Dare Jenny, elevator problem

Hey all,

I'm building a DARE Hobbies Jn-4D. Problem: The elevator is a linked elevator but they neglected to make a slot for the elevator connecting dowell to pass through the fin or rudder. In addition they designed the stab 1/4" too small.

If I cut a hole in the rudder I have to add weight to reinforce it. If I cut a hole in the fin/rear fuselage then I have to reinforce that area. Either way I'm going to have to add weight to it's ass which will be mitigated by the weight I cut out.

Loooking for suggestions. A friend suggested splitting the elevators and making a seperate pull/pull for each side but that adds even more weight and I've never done a pull/pull.

TIA,

Steve
