Too cool, bet it's nice to be back at the field.
I have never had a solder joint go bad and I would recommend not using Z-bends. Could I try and help convince you to resolder?
Use lots of heat on the rod not the clevis, clean the rod well and use flux with thin electronics flux core solder. If done permanent, the solder will cool to a dull finish. If done wrong (cold) the solder will cool shiny!
I always use enough solder at the rod, inside the clevis 'till it runs through and is visible at the end of the clevis. Then I grab the clevis while hot and move it a 1/4 inch back then forward again to make sure the solder is right through the clevis.
Glad you made it through that without mishap though, someone was looking out for you
