Default RE: B-17 close call

ORIGINAL: nimrah

the P-38 was repairable and as i understand is already back in the air the pilot lifted his gear too soon on take off and the prop hit the ground and that caused the crash as only one prop broke causing the plane to roll.
I didn't realize the P-38 was in that good of shape. I took a picture for it as it was taking off. I was very concerned since he lifted off so soon. I think when he cleared the stands, he was going wheels up right as the cross wind from beind the stands caught him. If I recall, the stands made a pretty good wind break, but once you cleared the stands, there was a wicked cross wind waiting for you. I wondered if the pilots knew about it given that where he was standing, there was no discernable winds. I knew that the prop strike set things in motion. I thought that the cross wind may have casued him to dip that wing.

You guys out on a great show out there. I am looking forward to it again this year.
