I had never given it much thought, but yes, you are on to something. The twin reed setup would allow more recovery time for the reed to do its' thing, same principal as why dual points had more rpm potential than single point ignition. If you can incorporate this idea into something plain and simple [and light] then you will really have something for reed fans to thump their chests over. As it stands now, the reed is the limiting factor with .049 rpm, if there was a way to decrease the reeds' mass, then the reed could go faster with more accuracy. I think I have heard of carbon reeds for the bigger stuff.
