campbec makes several good point but he did forget one thing, like kids, model also get bigger and more expnesive with time and if you can limit yourself to only 3 in one year you are doing great.

I never have more than 5 in flying condition but I usually replace most all 5 every year. I just sell them and move to bigger toys.

This hobby quickly becomes and addiction. There is a minor issue with the fireall and simply coating it with epoxy before you mount the engine on both sides as best as you can will take care of that. The outside will e easy, the inside is a bit harder but not impossible.

Besides, when you become bored with it as a trainer then you can convert it to a taildragger and it becomes a whole new plane. They also make good planes for towing gliders, put a set of floats on it, and a host of other things that the LT-40 is good for.
