Your #3 suggestion.... the wing bolt should go down through the top of the fuselage..... It sounds like you may have put it up through the bottom. I sent a pic.... look on the top of the fuselage (blue part) for the holes!

Does it matter as long as it holds the wing on? I would rather have the holes on the bottom instead of the top...but that is me.
