If you are really struggling to turn it over when new, then do as alex says, but rather than spin it up on the starter box, chuck the pilot shaft up in an electric drill and spin it over for a few minutes, regularly adding more after run oil or neat castor lube...

This is only for engines with an extreme pinch from new that are eating starter wheels for breakfast
